Warranty

This guarantee does not replace the statutory warranty regulated in our General Terms and Conditions, but is rather a supplement for private users.

Klein Tools Manufacturer's Warranty for Private Customer

The manufacturer Klein Tools Europe GmbH, Friedenheimer Brücke 20, 80639 Munich, (‘Klein Tools’) grants consumers, i.e. private end customers who purchase a Klein Tools product for reasons that cannot be attributed primarily to a commercial purpose or their independent professional activity a one (1) year warranty for the products advertised by Klein Tools with a warranty (‘products’). The warranty period begins on the date of delivery and handover of the products to the consumer.

This manufacturer's warranty does not apply to dealers, i.e. buyers who resell the products or entrepreneur/companies, i.e. a natural or legal person or a partnership with legal capacity which, when concluding a legal transaction, acts in the exercise of its other commercial or independent professional activity.

The rights under this manufacturer's warranty are free of charge.

Should material defects or manufacturing defects occur in the products during the warranty period, Klein Tools, as the guarantor, shall, at its own discretion, either repair the products free of charge or replace the products with an equivalent item free of charge.

This manufacturer's warranty does not affect the statutory rights of the consumer in the event of defects. This manufacturer's warranty therefore does not violate the statutory rights of the consumer, but rather extends their legal position. Any existing statutory warranty rights against Klein Tools remain unaffected by this manufacturer's warranty. If the products are defective and the consumerhas purchased the products directly from Klein Tools, the consumer must in all cases contact Klein Tools within the scope of the statutory warranty, regardless of whether a warranty claim or a claim under the manufacturer's warranty is made.

Procedure for asserting the warranties

In order to claim under this manufacturer's warranty, the consumer must inform Klein Tools in writing (by post to Klein Tools Europe GmbH, Friedenheimer Brücke 20, 80639 Munich or by email to contact@kleintools.eu) that they are claiming under the warranty within a cut-off period of two (2) months of the warranty claim arising or, in the case of defects that are not immediately recognisable, within two (2) months of their discovery. In doing so, an exact description of the products must be provided, as well as, if the consumer did not purchase the products from Klein Tools, the name and address of the seller of the products. Proof of purchase (order confirmation or copy of invoice) of the products must also be enclosed with the notification.

Klein Tools will then send the consumer a warranty return authorization number (‘WRA’). The products in question are to be sent to the above address of Klein Tools, quoting this WAR and enclosing proof of purchase. Care should be taken to ensure that the products are packed securely to avoid damage during transit.

Klein Tools will then check whether a warranty claim exists. Without a copy of the invoice, Klein Tools can refuse the warranty service. If the warranty claim is justified, the warranty process for the consumer is always carriage paid, i.e. Klein Tools will reimburse or cover any shipping costs for the return shipment. However, if Klein Tools has named a specific freight company to the consumerfor the return shipment and the consumer uses a different freight company, Klein Tools will not cover the costs of the return shipment. If a chargeable removal of the products is necessary for their return to Klein Tools, Klein Tools will bear the necessary costs for the removal.

Warranty claims are excluded in the event of damage to the products due to

  • normal wear and tear of the products,
  • the lack of maintenance of the products,
  • the alteration of the products,
  • the improper or abusive treatment of the products,
  • the failure to observe any safety precautions,
  • use of force (e.g. blows),
  • attempts at repair by the consumer or by third parties or
  • environmental influences (heat, humidity, etc.).
